Competition Prep Coach

A prep coach is the person who makes the calls you can't make objectively about your own body — when to drop calories, when to hold, when your conditioning is on schedule and when it isn't. This is hands-on coaching across the full cycle: off-season build, prep, show day, and recovery.

You get year-round guidance rather than a 16-week transaction, which is what actually improves placings season over season.

What's included

Coaching across the whole competitive year.

  • Off-season improvement plan targeting the exact areas judges marked down
  • Full prep management with weekly adjustments
  • Conditioning checks with honest, specific feedback
  • Posing coaching integrated into the schedule
  • Peak week and show-day management
  • Post-show reverse diet and mental reset plan

Who it's for

Competitors who have self-coached and hit a ceiling, athletes who want one accountable person instead of a committee, and newcomers who want to start with the right habits rather than unlearn bad ones.

Both in-person clients across Ventura County and remote clients nationwide are coached to the same standard.

The process and timeline

Onboarding covers your competitive history, past prep data, photos and measurements. If you're in an off-season we typically spend 12-20 weeks building before prep opens; if a show is close, we back-plan from the date and set realistic expectations on day one.

Check-ins are weekly all year, moving to twice weekly in the final four weeks.

Who you're working with

Coaching is delivered personally by a certified fitness and nutrition coach and Nationally Qualified NPC Bikini competitor with 20+ years in the gym and on the stage. That matters, because prep decisions are judgment calls: knowing when to hold calories, when to pull volume, and when the honest answer is that the show should wait a few weeks.

Every client keeps direct access — you're never handed off to an assistant. Plans are built by hand, reviewed by hand, and adjusted from your check-in data rather than from an app template.

Client results

The pattern most clients report: better conditioning at a higher calorie intake than their previous prep, and a recovery period that didn't spiral. Specific examples are shared with permission on your consult.

Pricing and how to get a quote

Prep coaching is quoted after a free 30-minute consult rather than from a fixed price list, because the right package depends on how far out you are, how much contact time you want, and whether you're training in person, online, or a hybrid of both.

Most clients land on a monthly coaching retainer with no long lock-in, and in-person sessions are available as single sessions or discounted blocks. You'll get the exact number in writing on the consult call — no pressure, no upsell script.

Book your free consult

The first step is a free 30-minute conversation about your goals, your timeline, and what has and hasn't worked for you before. You'll leave with a straight answer on whether this is the right fit and what the next 12 weeks would realistically look like.

Frequently asked questions

Why hire a competition prep coach instead of self-coaching?

You cannot assess your own conditioning objectively at week fourteen — nobody can. A coach makes the unemotional call, catches problems early, and keeps you from the aggressive deficits that cost muscle and placings.

Do you coach both online and in person?

Yes. In-person coaching is available across the Conejo Valley and Ventura County, and remote clients anywhere in the country get the same weekly video check-ins, written adjustments, and messaging access.

What happens after the show?

We plan the reverse diet before show day, then rebuild calories gradually over several weeks while keeping training high. That protects your metabolism and turns the off-season into your next improvement block.
